Start Smart. Build Right.
Foundations is our entry point for new students and returning athletes who want to reset their mechanics. We focus on stance, guard, footwork, and timing before speed or power—so every rep builds stability, balance, and confidence. Classes are small, feedback is specific, and results are measurable.
You’ll learn how to move, breathe, and protect yourself while developing the strength and coordination to level up into advanced striking, clinch, and grappling.
Four Pillars of Foundations
Stable base, weight distribution, pivots, and exits that keep you balanced and ready.
Jab–cross mechanics, hooks, knees, kick chambering, and guard recovery after every shot.
Parries, covers, checks, slips, and simple counters to build safe, efficient reactions.
Etiquette, spacing, contact levels, and partner communication for productive training.
How a Class Flows
- Prep (10 min): joint warm-up, breathwork, and movement prep for hips, ankles, and shoulders.
- Skills (20 min): one technical focus—stance reset, jab path, or kick chamber with balance drills.
- Applied Drills (15 min): pad rounds and partner work to add timing and distance control.
- Conditioning (10 min): short circuits for core, posture, and strike endurance.
- Cool Down (5 min): stretch, recap, and next-step cues to lock in learning.
Coaching Method
We stack skills one cue at a time and track progress with simple checklists.
- Micro-progressions: add complexity only after consistent form.
- Quality reps: fewer, better rounds beat rushed volume.
- Feedback loops: live corrections, demo videos, and monthly skill checks.
Safety First, Always
Respect and control define our mat culture. We set clear contact levels, rotate partners, and emphasize clean technique over power. Beginners never spar; when you’re ready, we add controlled, coach-supervised rounds.
- Loaner gloves & shin guards available for first sessions.
- Hand wraps required; mouthguard recommended.
- Hydration breaks and form checks built into every class.
